Field Testing of Football and Sports Fields for Gmax

Impacts with the surface are not rare and the ultimate concern is from the concussion to the life-threatening head injury.  It is considered that a concussion is likely with Gmax values as low as 150 and life-threatening head injuries not expected to occur where values are under a Gmax of 200.  A recent concern for head injury is the multiple impacts at values of Gmax that could be debilitating to the player.
